KTM's Moto 2 bike before switching to Kalex

Before KTM switched to the Kalex chassis in Moto2, their own KTM Moto2 bike was a formidable contender, blending the brand’s distinctive racing pedigree with advanced engineering. Introduced in 2017, the KTM Moto2 bike featured a steel trellis frame, a design choice that set it apart from the predominantly aluminum-framed competitors. Paired with a WP suspension setup, the bike was known for its rigidity and precise handling, which allowed it to excel on tight, technical circuits. Despite facing stiff competition, KTM managed to achieve significant success, including race wins and podium finishes, showcasing the bike’s potential in the highly competitive Moto2 class. However, in pursuit of further performance gains and consistency across different tracks, KTM eventually opted to transition to the proven Kalex chassis in 2021, marking the end of an era for their in-house Moto2 machine.

Surprising to see a Magura HC3 Master cylinder instead of a brembo unit.
I love a nice swing arm and KTM’s Moto2 rear end is no exception
